#Q1019 - What's New in WorkingArtist 3.0
WorkingArtist 3.0 is a major upgrade from WorkingArtist 2.0 Following is a list of some of the enhancements in WorkingArtist 3.0.
-- AddOn fields have been added to the Editions table. AddOn's can be frames, stands, etc. There is a field to specify the specific AddOn, for example, a particular frame. There is a field to specify the AddOn label, such as Framed, UnFramed, With Stand, Without Stand. There are two fields to specify the wholesale and retail prices for the AddOns. This new function allows you to price your editions individually depending on the type of frame or stand.
-- The Alt Size field has been changed from the Proof table to the Editions table. This allows you to create unique sizes for your editions, depending on the individual frames or stands.
-- The Artwork View and Artwork Edit tabs have been combined to reduce redundancy and enhance performance.
-- The retail and wholesale prices displayed in the Artwork Line include the AddOn prices.
-- Retail and wholesale prices displayed in artwork selection forms include the AddOn prices. To edit the detail, double-click the retail or wholesale price fields.
-- On the Artwork tab of the Artist Info form there is an option to include (or not) the AddOn label in the Artwork Line.
-- You can create a Framed Price Grid for a specific Price List with up to three columns for framed prices. Default for the percentage values and column headings can be entered in the Artist Info/Options form. Run the reports from the Price List Sent or Edit Price List sent form.
-- You can create and print a "Quick Invoice" for a single artwork from the Artwork form. To add additional artwork, you must go to the Invoice form.
-- You can create a statement or make a payment on an invoice from the Patrons form.
-- Entry Date and Work Due Dates are added to the Show Time Line reports.
-- A special rich text memo field replaces the letter text field in the Letters function. The field now includes the addressee, date, salutation and letter body. You can open an Editor to edit the entire text as in word processing.
-- Merge fields can be automatically added to form and mail list letters so that the addresses within WorkingArtist are merged into the letters.
-- Simple provenance records can now be added from the Provenance form.
-- Additional line options for show and slide labels have been added.
-- The date fields now allow a two digit year entry such as 01/01/01. This will automatically convert to 01/01/2001. 01/01/99 will automatically convert to 01/01/1999, etc.
-- Artwork select forms now allow for selecting individual editions for Price Lists and Media.
-- Artwork List form now allows display of either Artwork Only or All Editions.
-- Artwork Datasheet form "Expands" and "Contracts" to allow viewing of more data.
-- You can navigate continuous forms such as the Artwork List and the Patron List forms like spreadsheets.
-- "Pickup Date" has been added to the Show Entries form. Entry Date, Work Due Date, Opening Date and Pickup Date have been added to the Show Entry Detail and Show Time LIne reports.
-- Reworked new purpose fields so they contain AddressName rather than PatronName.
-- A calendar function collects show, project, registry and reminder date items and displays them on a visual calendar that can be printed month by month in either portrait or landscape format.
-- You can designate the format for the printed calendar in the Artist Info screen.
-- Certificate note data is now contained in the edition record rather than the artwork record. You can insert provenance data for the specific edition into the certificate note or copy the note from the first artwork edition.
-- Juror selection not requerying on Project Edit form until form closed and reopened. This has been fixed.
-- You can now access the backup utility for compacting and backing up your data file from the file menu on the Main Switchboard.
-- You can now view a backup you have created with a selection from the File menu on the Main Switchboard.
-- You can now restore a backup you have created from the File menu on the Main Switchboard.
-- There are two new reports in the consignment report which list work still available at consignment locations.
-- There are three new artwork detail reports which allow batch printing.
-- There are three new artwork edition reports which display all editions for all artwork rather than selected proofs for a particular artwork.
-- The size of phone, fax and email fields in the Letterhead function have been increased so that you can add text to the field, such as "Tel: 000-000-0000."
-- When you create an invoice from a show or consignment, the work record on that show or consignment is now automatically marked as "sold."
-- There are three new artwork edition reports which display all editions rather than selected proofs for a particular edition.
-- A ContactName field has been added to the Patron Contact form. When you enter ContactFirst and ContactLast, the Contact Name will automatically be entered. This field allows you to customize your Mail List labels for patrons identified as "Companies.". For example, you can enter John Doe and Jane Smith in the Contact Name field.
--Default Patron Type has been added to the Artist Info/Options fields. You can select a default Patron Type to expedite data entry on the New Patron form.
--Alt keys on the New Patron form allow you to bypass fields that you don't want to tab through.
--New patron fields "Tot Purchase" and "Avg Purchase" allow you to create reports of patrons sorted by their average purchase or their total purchase.
--The Artwork Report dialog, Patron Report dialog and Price List Report dialog now remain open after you preview a report with a few exceptions (datasheets).
--You can now open your email application directly from the Mail List function in order to send an email to multiple addresses.
--You can now add all patrons from one mail list to another mail list.
--You can now tag patrons in a particularmail list so that you can reprint labels or reports for just a portion of the list..
-- When deleting the main contact from the Contact List, another contact from the specific patron was not being designated as main contact if there was another contact. This has been fixed.
-- You can now print blank invoice forms for off-site sales.
-- You can include the Artwork Add-On as a descriptive line on the invoice or you can add the Add-On as a separately priced line item.
-- If your patron is on a payment plan, the payment and date due will now print on the Statement.
