How do I delete and edit a provenance record? I made a mistake in the entry.

Hi Jonah,

The provanance record is an activity record. If it was created in the Provenance form, then it is a simple activity record. You can either go to the Patrons form for that particular patron and click on the Activity tab or you can simply click on the Activity Log button on the toolbar. If the provenance record was created through one of the other functions such as Invoices or Consignmentsthen you can locate the activity record through that specific function.

In the Activity Log, double-click on the record selector for the Activity to open the Activity form where you can edit the purpose of the activity. You can also delete the Activity Record from either the Activity Log (select the record then click on the Delete button) or from the Activity tab on the Patrons form.

There are some activity records which you cannot delete because they are connected to a specific function such as a consignment or an invoice, but you can always edit the Purpose of an activity record, which is what displays on the Provenance form.

I was surprised to find there is no way to edit the activity directly from the Provenance form so I'm going to take a look at that.

Let me know if this makes sense.

Thanks,
Kathryn
